The Channel Classic Regatta July 1st-14th
The Classic Channel Regatta 2009 will follow a similar format to the highly successful previous regattas in 2005 & 2007, calling at three of the finest ports in the Channel. There will be two days of racing at Dartmouth, before the Classic Channel Race sails to Paimpol where the regatta will be hosted by the Ville de Paimpol and the racing will be organised with the Cercle Nautique de Paimpol. It will then sail on to St Peter Port, where we are also assured of a very warm welcome by our joint organisers there, the Guernsey Yacht Club.
The Classic Channel Regatta is open to bermudian and gaff-rigged classic yachts launched before the end of 1975 and more recent 'Spirit of Tradition' yachts.

PART 1 - DARTMOUTH CLASSICS WEEKEND Dartmouth Classics will be held over the weekend of Saturday July 4th - Sunday 5th, kicking off with a welcome do on Friday evening. There will be racing in Start Bay off Dartmouth on Saturday and Sunday before the start of the Classic Channel Race to Paimpol on Monday July 6th.
The weekend will again be hosted by the Royal Dart Yacht Club and a full programme of social events is planned at both the RDYC clubhouse and the Old Market Square in Dartmouth. The Dart Harbour Authority are very kindly waiving mooring fees for two nights over the weekend for competitors.
All boats and crews are assured of a very warm welcome at the beautiful port of Dartmouth.
PART 2 - THE CLASSIC CHANNEL RACE The Classic Channel Race will sail from Dartmouth to Paimpol, where the regatta will be hosted by our French partners, the Ville de Paimpol and the Cercle Nautique de Paimpol. The race will start from Dartmouth in the afternoon of Monday July 6th and will finish off Paimpol during Tuesday July 7th. On finishing, boats will lock into the basin in the centre of the delightful port of Paimpol. There will be a rest day on Wednesday to enjoy the delights of Paimpol and surrounding area, with a prizegiving party for the Classic Channel Race in the evening.
PART 3 - PAIMPOL - ST PETER PORT The regatta fleet will lock out of Paimpol on Thursday morning for an Inshore Race off the coast. If the weather is settled there may be a pique-nique after the race before locking back into Paimpol.
The Passage Race to Guernsey will start off Paimpol on Friday morning to finish off St Peter Port later in the day. The Classic Round Sark Race will take place on Saturday, followed by a final prizegiving and party in St Peter Port and our return trip! See the official website!
